CMMB began our on-the-grounds operations in Africa through pioneering initiatives in South Africa launched to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic in conjunction with the South Africa Catholic Bishops’ Conference. CMMB’s work in this area continues with a major commitment to our AIDSRelief program, in which we operate as part of a five-member consortium. CMMB also works closely with many strong long partners to provide care for orphans and other vulnerable children in the wake of the pandemic’s scourge. CMMB’s strategy is to build on the strong foundation of relationships with in-country partners, introducing into South Africa proven programs from other CMMB country operations.
