Healing Help Distribution Center

CMMB's medical shipments originate from a 33,000-square-foot distribution center in Long Island City, New York. CMMB purchased the building in 1961. Today, the facility features a computerized inventory system and climate-controlled refrigeration capabilities for medicines that require cold storage.

Many millions of dollars with of pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies donated by CMMB’s generous corporate partners are delivered to the distribution center on a continuing basis, where these materials are placed in inventory for redistribution.

CMMB maintains close working relationships with missions, clinics and health facilities around the world. When needs become known, CMMB responds by custom-assembling the needed medicines from its inventory. Typically these medicines are packed in large 40-feet containers, then sent by ship to the intended destination. In emergency situations, or when medicines must be refrigerated, shipments are sent by air. CMMB has extensive expertise in managing the complex logistics, customs paperwork and governmental relations involved with large shipments of medicines across national borders. Thanks to long-established relations with local partners in receiving countries, CMMB also has the confidence of knowing that its shipments reach the people in need at their intended destinations.

Every year, more than 300 large shipments containing essential medicines and supplies are loaded onto trailers from the Long Island City facility, and begin their journey to far reaches of the world, where people in need eagerly await their contents.
